SUBJECT: Adoption of a Resolution Honoring John E. Bassett on the Occasion of His Inauguration as Eighth President of Clark University

The affiliated members and staff of the Center for Academic Integrity respectfully submit the following resolution congratulating Dr. John E. Bassett on his inauguration as the eighth President of Clark University

WHEREAS, Dr. Bassett assumed the Presidency of Clark University in July of 2000; and

WHEREAS, Dr. Bassett's previous record of academic scholarship and administrative achievement has well prepared him to rise to the challenge of leading one of the best-known teaching and research liberal arts Universities in the nation, and

WHEREAS, Dr. Bassett's Presidential tenure to date has been marked by a number of initiatives, projects, and other accomplishments that clearly demonstrate his leadership, and

WHEREAS, Dr. Bassett has expressed support for the mission of the Center for Academic Integrity and the fundamental values of academic integrity in higher education; be it so

RESOLVED that the Board of Directors of the Center for Academic Integrity hereby extends their sincere congratulations and best wishes to Dr. John E. Bassett on the occasion of his Presidential inauguration on this 30^th day of March, 2001 as an expression of appreciation for his leadership and dedication to Clark University.
