The Center for Academic Integrity (CAI), the preeminent international organization dedicated to promoting academic integrity through the articulation of standards in teaching, learning and research, is pleased to solicit nominations for its prestigious 2008 awards.
The Donald McCabe Award honors Dr. Donald McCabe, Professor of Management at Rutgers University and founding president of the Center for Academic Integrity. Dr. McCabe is the nation's foremost researcher on academic integrity in universities, colleges, community colleges, and secondary schools. The award is given to an individual who has accrued a lifetime of achievement in the field of academic integrity.
The Donald McCabe Student of Merit Award, which also honors Dr. McCabe, was established by the Board of Directors of the Center for Academic Integrity to recognize his untiring efforts over the past 15 years to focus discourse on academic integrity in colleges and universities, secondary schools, and the international arena. This award is given to a student who promotes academic integrity at a historically black college, community college, or a school that is not a member of the Center for Academic Integrity.
The Champion of Integrity Award is awarded to an individual who demonstrates courage in "championing" academic integrity in the face of opposition and/or adversity.
The Richard L. Storinger Award is awarded to a student who demonstrates extraordinary accomplishment, exceptional persistence and/or great courage in promoting academic integrity. The award is made possible through a gift from the Storinger family in memory of Richard Storinger, former dean of humanities, language and arts and professor emeritus of English, at Oakton Community College.
