The CAI Champion of Integrity Award
This award recognizes an individual for courageously upholding academic integrity in the face of opposition and/or adversity. The recipient of this award is recognized for his or her commitment to academic integrity, his or her willingness to "do the right things" despite obstacles and/or rebuff, and his or her contribution to effecting positive change among students, peers, and colleagues within educational communities. This award is not given annually, and is reserved for honorees who meet the criteria below.
Criteria:
This award is intended for a faculty member or administrator who is credited with:
- An action, speech, or demonstration that draws attention to a violation of academic integrity.
- An action that, in an attempt to promote or uphold academic integrity, may subject the nominee to reprisal or ridicule.
- An action motivated by commitment to and conviction about the importance of academic integrity and not by public acclaim or monetary gains.
The nominee must be a faculty member or administrator and must be nominated by a member of CAI. A subcommittee of the CAI Advisory Council will review all nominations and select the recipient(s). The recipient of this award is recognized at the CAI annual conference, where the award will be presented.
