Plagiarism Education Week with Turnitin: April 22-26, 2013
Originality Matters!

It’s one of the more challenging times of the year, when you as an educator, start grading the more writing-intensive assignments, and discover a handful of students still plagiarizing parts of their paper. Despite your talks at the beginning of the semester and reminders throughout the class, something isn’t getting through.

Plagiarism Education Week was created to serve as a reminder for educators, that Originality Matters. During this week Turnitin partners with The International Center for Academic Integrity (ICAI), The School for Ethical Education (SEE), and Plagiarism Today to bring a series of live webcasts and highlight key resources each day to progress the discussion from causes and types of plagiarism, to responses and approaches to plagiarism.

Of course Originality Matters to students as well—and our friends at Plagiarism.org will be highlighting some excellent new resources for students to educate themselves on plagiarism and citation. They will also be
holding a student poster contest around the theme of “Originality Matters.”
